C25K

SO... the dress from my last post didn't turn out quite like I expected.. No photos until I think its done to my satisfaction. I did attempt it though. :)

Since I have the go-ahead from my doc to formally exercise post-natally, I've decided to start a Couch-2-5k  program. Thanks to the help of coolrunning.com I started the program last night. Its only three days a week, for 20-30 minutes at a time.

I am almost scared to admit it, not that I believe in jinxes or anything, but the first day was .... easy. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the walks I've been on lately, or just that I ran X-country in high school, but in any case, I didn't die. Thankfully.

I started off with 5 minutes of brisk warm up, 10 minutes of running/walking intervals, and a 5 minute cool down. The guide says I shouldn't move ahead in the program even if I think a workout is easy, because it increases the chance for me to fail/quit the program. I'm not planning to register for a 5k yet, (the program is 9 weeks long) but maybe by the time I'm done in October I'll be motivated to run an actual race again.

I"ll check in with you in a few weeks to let you know how I'm doing.
