This past Sunday, we had the opportunity to go and view my younger brother Joe's artwork at the Sioux City art museum. Joe is an 8th grader with a talent for drawing. His drawing was submitted by his art teacher at OCCS. It was of a city called Metalicius (a name he invented). He said it took him about two weeks to draw. He has many other drawings that are similar to this.
His drawing recieved an Honorable Mention for the eighth grade submissions and was one of 80-some pieces accepted out of 300+ that were submitted by area schools.
Next year, Joe will be a Freshman at UCHS in Orange City, and will have another opportunity to submit artwork, as the Sioux City Art Museum will sponsor art from High Schools that year.
Way to go Joey! We are so proud of you!
