Here's to you mom!

October is breast cancer awareness month.

This means that people around the nation work together specifically during the month of October to remind women about the importance of breast self-examinations, yearly mammograms, and work on raising money supporting breast cancer research and treatments.

For me, this month is more than a reminder to do a do a breast self exam - it reminds me that I am lucky enough to have a mom, and that she could have been one of the women who didn't make it through breast cancer.

She's a SURVIVOR.
A strong woman.

Not that other women aren't. Anyone who has the courage to face cancer certainly has more strength than I can understand.. and they're all heroes.

Take time today to thank God for the women in your life. Let them know about it. Your mom,  sisters, grandmas, nieces, aunts, mother-in-law, and sisters-in-law all deserve to know how much you LOVE them and need them in your life. Take a road trip and laugh. Get a pedicure together. Call them on the phone if you can't meet in person. How ever you decide to do it, don't put it off, and let them know.

Here's to you mom!
